MYOPIA MANAGEMENT
Myopia is the clinical term for nearsightedness – clear vision up close and blurry vision in the distance. If your child has this condition, they are at an increased risk for developing degenerative myopia. As we become more nearsighted in childhood, our eye elongates and creates stretching forces on the retina. These stretching forces can lead to retinal tears and detachments, fluid buildup in our central vision, and overall reduced vision or significant vision loss. Treating myopia early is important and will reduce the risk of progression to degenerative myopia. We offer the latest treatment options to help slow the progression of myopia and keep your child’s eyes healthy. These options include eye drops and soft contact lenses.
