DRY EYE SYMPTOMS & EVALUATIONS

Dry Eye Disease (DED), also known as Ocular Surface Disease (OSD), is characterized by the dysfunction of 1 or more structures on the ocular surface. This condition is both progressive and chronic, with the potential to cause significant symptoms and permanent damage if left untreated.

NuLids Pro

NuLids Pro is an in-office procedure for managing ocular surface disease and promoting optimal eye health. This gentle and effective procedure involves meticulously cleansing the eyelids and surrounding areas to target conditions such as blepharitis, dry eye syndrome, and meibomian gland dysfunction. By removing debris, bacteria, and inflammatory agents from the eyelid margins, NuLids helps alleviate discomfort, enhance tear film quality, and improve overall ocular surface health.

GLAND EXPRESSION

Our eyelids house important and delicate glands called the meibomian glands. These glands release an oil that keeps our eyes and tear film healthy every time we blink. With frequent screen use, our blink rate is drastically reduced, causing less healthy oil to enter our tear film and atrophy of the muscles responsible for this release. Long term effects of this phenomenon can lead to blocked glands and permanent loss of these important glands. At late stages of meibomian gland dysfunction, these glands will need to be manually expressed in order to facilitate the production of healthy oils and reduce the symptoms of dry eyes over time.

IPL works by eliminating new and old vascular growth caused by inflammation and effectively stops this debilitating inflammatory cycle. IPL is also used to treat eyelid styes, blepharitis, ocular and facial rosacea, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, and age spots among many others. This is a minimally invasive treatment with little to no down time and is all done in an average of four 30-minute treatments. Unlike aesthetic only clinics, we can safely and effectively treat conditions in and around the eyes, leaving you looking and feeling your best. Request a consultation today!

radio frequency_edited.jpg

Radio Frequency offers a non-surgical and non-invasive solution for ocular surface disease (OSD). Harnessing heat and vibration generated by microcurrents, this method targets congested glands and works to rejuvenate the ocular surface. The procedure is known for its remarkable comfort, resembling the soothing sensation of a warm stone massage around the eyes.

Why Evaluation is Important

Our eyelids contain delicate glands that work to keep the tear film and ocular surface healthy. Obstructions in these glands cause inflammation and the eventual permanent disappearance of these glands.

While this condition develops slowly over time, end-stage symptoms can be debilitating, leading to loss of vision and corneal integrity.
